It was 3 AM when the sound of Husky’s growling woke me up. I couldn’t place myself at first, the darkness brought back memories of my last misadventure. As the fog cleared, I realised I was indeed in my home. I ran downstairs to Husky, he was having a nightmare maybe. I sat down beside him just so that he finds me beside him whenever he wakes up. I woke up with a start at the loud call from the Quarantine center, found myself huddled at the side of Husky’s bed. The call was loud for a reason, it was an emergency announcement from Dr. Venkat, “Our broken guest has arisen from her slumber and is demanding an audience with you on an immediate basis.”
I jumped right up and ran to the shower, an emergency announcement from Dr. Venkat was not to be trifled with. I got ready in my rose gold worksuit, made an eggs and bacon sandwich in the food synthesizer and ran. While gulping down my food, I took Magpool, our maglev carpool taxi system and reached the medical center as fast as I could.
