“Welcome to the Black Rose, your home for the next few days” boomed Sergei’s voice as me and Husky walked into their bunker. Few days? He must be out of his mind, I thought while forcing myself to maintain a calm demeanour. It was really hard to not go all medieval on this man, but I had learnt to keep my tricks up my sleeve till the opportune moment. He definitely had not done his homework on me, not that it would have helped. Even before the war, I maintained walls around some of my activities. Taking me as a captive must have been one of his worst ideas, and as far as I knew him, Sergei didn’t come off as pragmatic.
A very different world greeted us when we walked inside the bunker, or rather a miniature version of Black Sun’s facility. We stood on a metal grate that ran along the perimeter of the floor we stood on, laboratories encased in reinforced glass on the other side of the grating.
