Chronicles of Tommorow: Echoes from the Future: Ep. 29 Arms of the Future

The whole day was spent wracking brains with Phil in Brokka’s Workshop. Time was too short to design anything special for the recon job and we wanted to avoid a humanoid design. The job was to observe and collect data without being noticed by any external agent. We decided, the animal best suited for such work was cat. Cats even though stayed indoors were known to be hunters and hunters know how to keep quiet. Brokka came up with a design within minutes that mimicked the movements of a cat. The eyes were replaced by high resolution cameras, the ears with microphones and fitted the tail with a holographic projector to create a cloak if it ever encountered an adversary. There were no options for attack on the design for the time being but a self destruct mechanism was incorporated if anyone tried to capture or immobilise one. The whole body was made of silicon based alloy supported by a carbon fibre skeletal structure and powered by malleable piezoeletcric material near the joints of the machine which were connected to high torque motors. Such an arrangement may not have given them a lot of speed but it did enable them to manoeuvre difficult terrain or cling from ceilings…
